Yes I did study classical composition but I do try to keep it out of my songwriting. The keyboard part in the verses could have been played on a harpsichord. And the outro is very much like a vocal round wich could be considered classical. It works for this song and it was great fun to write. As was the time changes, swithcing between 4/4 and 5/4 and then finishing off with 6/8.
Now… apart from the musical nerdery. Its a song about not getting along super well. Not a full blown argument but but being in different head spaces.
